English rock pioneers Deep Purple are heading down under in 2013, bringing four decades worth of music to the freshly-finished Perth Arena.
US rockers Journey will join them, on their first Australian tour, for five dates throughout February and March.
Deep Purple's back catalogue, including Smoke on the Water, Hush, and Highway Star, will no doubt bring Perth's golden oldies out in force, but the recent revamping of Journey's Don't Stop Believing on Channel Ten's import Glee could mean they'll be vying with teens for space up front.
That's not to say that Journey won't be bringing the hard stuff themselves; with albums also spanning 40 years, the rockers bring with them Any Way You Want It, Who's Crying Now, and Any Time.
Whatever the crowd demographics, the two bands' combined album sales of 180 million are sure to mean the Arena is packed on Perth's Thursday night show.
Tickets go on sale on November 12 and will be available from Ticketek.
